Coverage Within the United States
There are specific rules that must be adhered to in order for a physician to implant the Acticon Neosphincter in patients.
Coverage can be obtained for patients on a case-by-case basis. The procedure requires a prior authorization from your insurance company. Your physician will need to implement the prior authorization process. The insurance company will require a letter of medical necessity to authorize the treatment. After the letter has been submitted by your doctor, your involvement can be very instrumental in obtaining coverage. In addition, AMS is able to work with the insurance company to provide supporting documentation as needed.
